These are the 11 PGA Tour events canceled in 2020
The 2019-20 PGA Tour season originally had 49 FedEx Cup tournaments. The global coronavirus pandemic forced changes to those plans.
In April, the Tour released its revised schedule, with an updated slate showing a total of 36 tournaments.
Now, make it 35.
On Thursday, Golfweek learned that the John Deere Classic will not be held this year.
The tournament was scheduled for July 9-12 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, and would have been the fifth event played in the Tour’s revamped schedule.
That makes 11 events, including the 149th Open Championship, now canceled.
Two other majors – the U.S. Open and the Masters – as well as the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, slide onto next season's 2020-21 schedule. Puntacana, an opposite-field event that was supposed to be the same weekend as the WGC-Match Play, is now opposite the Ryder Cup.
Also coming off the PGA Tour's future schedules is A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier, which had served as the Tour's season opener. Tournament organizers canceled next season's event as well as the remaining years on a contract that was to run through 2026.
