A few weeks ago, Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood decided to use yet-to-be-released TaylorMade Qi4D drivers during a DP World Tour event in Abu Dhabi, and Scottie Scheffler used one at the recent Hero World Challenge. Driver testing, however, is not the exclusive domain of men. We noticed that both Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang used drivers at last week's Grant Thornton Invitational that you can't buy in stores yet.

Rose Zhang (left) and Nelly Korda both played prototype drivers at the 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational.

The last 15 days of 2025 are going to be a quiet time in the golf equipment world before a storm of new drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters is released. That said, if you are not done with your holiday shopping for the golfers in your life, Golfweek's Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide is packed with footwear, apparel, and equipment that can still be delivered before Christmas.

Finally, if you are one of those people who loves the holidays but hates the cold, TaylorMade has just released its Island Time Collection of TP5 and TP5x Pix balls, accessories and headcovers. Think palm trees, hula girls, hibiscus flowers and warm vibes. Sure, we're looking forward to watching the PNC Championship this week and seeing great players team with their kids at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, but the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii can't come soon enough!
