There comes a moment in every Formula One season when the broadcasters stop talking about downforce and tire degradation and instead marvel at something far simpler: style. The paint schemes, the race suits, the helmets — they’re all part of the theatre, a blend of engineering and attitude. Golf doesn’t usually get those moments. But every now and then, a brand bolts something unexpected onto the sport’s chassis and, for a brief lap, the game feels like it’s running at 12,000 RPM.

That’s the vibe TaylorMade is chasing with its new collaboration with Oracle Red Bull Racing, a partnership that fuses the company’s clean, modern aesthetic with the swagger of the world’s most famous F1 team. The release isn’t quiet. It’s not subtle. It’s the golf-equipment equivalent of rolling onto the first tee in a car that still smells like the Monaco paddock.

The different colored bands around the hosels of the TaylorMade x ORBR wedges is homage to the different F1 tires used in races.

The supercar in the garage is the wedge set. TaylorMade took 52, 56 and 60-degree Milled Grind 5 wedges and gave them a racing-blue finish that looks like it came straight off a Red Bull sidepod. The branding is sharp and loud without feeling gimmicky, and if you’re the sort of golfer who appreciates the tiny technical nods that casuals miss, the hosels will make you grin: white rings on the 52 for F1’s hard-compound tires, yellow rings on the 56 for mediums and red rings on the 60 for softs. At $750 for the set, they’re unapologetically premium, but a supercar doesn’t whisper when it pulls into the driveway.

The supporting cast is built for fans who like their gear with a little attitude. The Tour Preferred glove ($35) looks like something a driver would wear if he needed to flight a wedge under the wind. Four T-shirts ($60 each) lean into the idea that a golfer can appreciate a good chicane as much as a tight dogleg. The hoodies ($130) are where the designers let themselves have fun — especially the Box at the Turn hoodie, which features a golf cart staged like it’s waiting in pit lane with a TaylorMade bag in the back and tire stacks up front. The Final Lap hoodie keeps the theme rolling with a golf-hole-as-racetrack diagram.

Rounding things out is a microfiber towel ($30) dressed in red-checkered graphics and a ball-marker set ($45) inspired by F1 tire compounds.

Golf and racing are both sports obsessed with precision, performance and the never-ending chase for speed. This TaylorMade x Oracle Red Bull Racing drop leans into that overlap unapologetically — and it does so at full throttle.
