Justin Rose shares invitation to the 2026 Masters Tournament
Todd KellyJustin Rose had a front row seat to Rory McIlroy's historic Masters victory last April. Rose took McIlroy to a playoff at Augusta National Golf Club, only to witness McIlroy make a short putt on the 18th green that clinched his first green jacket.
Moments later, the two shared an emotional hug and conversation. For McIlroy, it was his breakthrough Masters win. For Rose, it was his second playoff loss at Augusta. He was also a playoff participant in 2017, the last time the Masters went to extra holes, before coming up short against Sergio Garcia. Rose was also runner-up in 2015.

Just ahead of Christmas, Rose has become one of the first of the 2026 Masters participants to post his invitation on social media. The invite, signed by ANGC chairman Fred Ridley, says:
The Board of Governors of the Augusta National Golf Club cordially invites you to participate in the Two Thousand and Twenty Six Masters Tournament to be held at Augusta, Georgia, the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth of April.
Rose has played in the Masters 21 times. He has 12 top-25 finishes in his last 15 outings, including those three second-place finishes.
The Masters is full of traditions. Receiving the official invitation in the mail just before the holidays is one of the sweetest moments for those who get to play the tournament.
