Asked and answered.

It was about one month ago that Justin Thomas announced he had surgery on his back. At the time, Thomas, 32, said he's been dealing with "nagging hip pain" that has gotten worse in his time off. That led to a successful microdiscectomy, which is described as a procedure to remove a bulging or damaged disc in the lower spine.

Two weeks later, JT was up and about and in good spirits. Originally set to be a participant in Amazon Prime's reboot of the Skins Game on Black Friday, Thomas instead spent a good chunk of time in the broadcast booth.

But fans can be curious and on Thursday, X user @88blewby popped a question to JT to get an update. Thomas replied back: "I'm doing pretty well!" and then offered some more details: "Rehab coming along slowly but surely... still a bit away from hitting any golf balls. Listening to protocols and how I'm feeling is just as [or] more important than the surgery itself."

Thomas made 21 starts in 2025 and made the cut 19 times, including four top-5s and win at the RBC Heritage. He also cleared $10 million in earnings and was a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team for a fourth time, making him the most senior member on the 2025 squad.

As far as his return to action goes, he said right after surgery there is no timeline for that and that didn't seem to change this week, as he pointed out he still hasn't even gotten back to hitting balls yet.
