LIV Golf on verge of signing Korean star from PGA Tour, per report
Is LIV Golf on the verge of making its biggest signing since Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton joined the league?
Si Woo Kim is in "late-stage negotiations" to sign with LIV Golf, Tom Hobbs of Flushing It Golf reported Wednesday morning.
Kim joining LIV Golf would be another big gap to fill for the International team in the Presidents Cup. Kim is a four-time PGA Tour winner, including the 2017 Players Championship, and has played in the last three Presidents Cups. He's ranked 47th in the Official World Golf Ranking and finished inside the top 50 of the FedEx Cup standings following the 2025 season.
Kim made 30 starts, making 22 cuts with three top-10 finishes, his best being T-4 at the season-ending RSM Classic.

Kim, 30, has exactly 300 PGA Tour starts in his career. He would be expected to join Kevin Na's Iron Heads GC team.
LIV Golf went to Korea for the first time in 2025, though no stop in South Korea is on the schedule as of now for 2026.
The league has signed two players in the 2025 offseason, both with PGA Tour cards, but neither as notable as Kim. France's Victor Perez was the first signing, announced during the RSM Classic when he was initially in the field. Then Laurie Canter, a former LIV player who became the first player to compete in a PGA Tour event after playing on LIV, re-signed after earning his PGA Tour card via the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai rankings.
Six players were relegated from LIV Golf after the 2025 season, and if Kim does sign with the league, three spots will have been filled by signings while two more, Scott Vincent and Yosuke Asaji earned spots via the Asian Tour's international Series final rankings. There are also two spots available in next month's Promotions Event, meaning at least seven new faces will be on LIV Golf in 2026 and up to 55 players, fueling speculation there could be a 14th team next season, too.
