Hero World Challenge leaderboard, highlights: Straka fires 64 to take lead

Updated Dec. 6, 2025, 5:36 p.m. ET

It was moving day at the 2025 Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas as the 20-man field of PGA Tour stars continues enjoying a sunny week in the tropics.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is back in action for the first time since the Ryder Cup, looking to defend his title at Albany Golf Course, and he's right in the mix after three rounds. But Sepp Straka is the one who leads the way after 54 holes following his blistering bogey-free, 8-under 64 on Saturday.

Sepp Straka holds 54-hole lead in Bahamas, Scheffler one back

Sepp Straka made four birdies and two eagles en route to an 8-under 64 void of bogeys in Saturday's third round of the Hero World Challenge.

"I played pretty nice," Straka said. "Front nine I felt like I didn't really make any putts early on, but then the putter started feeling pretty nice around the turn. Honestly, similar to yesterday. Iron play was really good, I just struggled with the driver a little bit. Hopefully clean that up for tomorrow."

Straka played alongside World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who seemed as if he might give us another signature Scottie runaway victory. That wasn't the case, though, as the world's best player made two bogeys in his final three holes to surrender the lead that he held most of the day. Straka, meanwhile, stayed steady.

"It didn't look like [Scheffler] was going to miss a putt there for a little bit," Straka said. "But it's golf, it usually evens out a lot and I just tried to focus on my own game."

Sepp Straka takes the clubhouse lead with a blistering 64

Sepp Straka became the clubhouse leader at the Hero World Challenge just before 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. He signed for a bogey-free 8-under 64 which included a pair of eagles, one on each side. The 32-year-old from Austria is 17 under for the tournament and with just a few groups left on the course, he will likely have at least a share of the lead entering Sunday's final round in the Bahamas.

Scottie Scheffler loses lead with 2 bogeys in his last 3 holes

Scottie Scheffler seemed to be cruising right along until he hit the 16th, where he made bogey to drop into a tie for the lead with Sepp Straka. He made par on 17 before making another bogey at the 18th to ultimately end up carding a 7-under 65 in Saturday's third round. He enters the clubhouse one shot off the lead, which belongs to Sepp Straka, who played alongside Scheffler and fired a 64 Saturday.

J.J. Spaun makes 3 straight birdies to get within two

Right as it appeared as if the Hero World Challenge was becoming a two-horse race, J.J. Spaun rattled off three straight birdies on holes 13-15. Spaun is 15 under as of 4:15 p.m. ET, two shots behind Sepp Straka and Scottie Scheffler, who are tied for the lead at 17 under.

Scheffler, Straka running away from the field

Scottie Scheffler made back-to-back birdies just after 3:30 p.m. ET to get to 18 under, one shot ahead of Sepp Straka. The pair are playing together and are a combined 17 under par for the day, running away from the field. Alex Noren, Hideki Matsuyama and J.J. Spaun sit in a tie for third at 14 under.

Scottie Scheffler regains the lead with a birdie at the 10th

And just like that, the World No. 1 is the solo leader again. He moves to 15 under as of 2:40 p.m. ET.

Scottie Scheffler stumbles with a bogey, drops into 3-way tie for lead

Scottie Scheffler is human! Sometimes we need that reminder and he gave us one on the eighth hole at Albany GC on Saturday. This blunder led to a bogey and dropped him into a 3-way tie for the lead with Hideki Matsuyama and Sepp Straka as of 2:30 p.m. ET.

Sepp Straka keeps the short game magic going

Just a few holes after hitting one of the more impressive bunker shots in recent memory, Sepp Straka knocked this one in from off the green for eagle at No. 6. As of 2:25 p.m. ET, he's 14 under and in a tie for the lead with Hideki Matusyama and Scottie Scheffler.

Hideki Matsuyama chips in for back-to-back birdies

Yeah, these guys are pretty good.

Matsuyama moves to 12 under for the tournament, three shots behind solo leader Scottie Scheffler as of 2 p.m. ET.

Sepp Straka pulls off magical shot from plugged lie

Talk about a horrendous lie. I don't even know if this qualifies as a "fried egg" because you can barely even see the ball. It didn't matter for Sepp Straka, though, who's 12 under for the tournament and has moved into a tie for second as of 1:45 p.m ET. Check out this jaw-dropping shot.

Scottie Scheffler red-hot to start third round, takes solo lead

Well, if you missed watching Scottie Scheffler make every golf course in the world look easy, then you're in luck, because he's doing it again in the Bahamas after a few months off from competition.

The World No. 1 is 4 under through four holes at Albany GC on Saturday, with an eagle at the par-5 third to go along with birdies at the first and fourth. Scheffler took the solo lead just after 1 p.m. ET and he sits at 13 under, one shot ahead of Alex Noren.

Scottie Scheffler rejoins tie for the lead

Scottie Scheffler started Saturday's third round one behind a five-way tie for the lead. It took him just one hole to join that group at 10 under as he made birdie on No. 1 to get his day started.

Billy Horschel drains long-bomb putt to get his day started

How about this from Billy Horschel to kickstart his third round? Sixty-five feet to the bottom of the cup gets the former Florida Gator to 6 under for the week.

Five-way tie for the lead after 36 holes

The math says that 25 percent of the 20 golfers in the field are tied for the lead. That should set up a fun weekend. The five are:

  • Akshay Bhatia, 10 under
