LPGA No. 1 raises funds to build classrooms in rural Thailand
Beth Ann NicholsNot long after Jeeno Thitikul returned home from her triumphant finish to the 2025 LPGA season, the world No. 1 had what she called one of the happiest days of her life.
The 22-year-old Thai star joined fellow pro golfer Keera Foocharoen and team in presenting new classrooms for young school children.
Thitikul and Foocharoen, an Epson Tour player who played collegiate golf at Virginia Tech, helped raise the funds earlier this year at the inaugural JK Golf Charity event, which took place in January.
The funds raised helped build classrooms for three different schools in rural areas of Thailand, including Thitikul's native Ratchaburi province.
At the building presentation, Thitikul signed autographs and passed out ice cream to kids who will enjoy their new fully equipped classrooms. The second JK Golf Charity event, scheduled for Jan. 17, 2026, has already sold out.
Now a seven-time winner on the LPGA, Thititkul claimed her second $4 million paycheck after winning the CME Group Tour Championship for a second consecutive year. While she didn't clinch an elusive major in 2025, she did earn her first Rolex LPGA Player of the Year Award and her second Vare Trophy, setting a record for the lowest scoring average in LPGA history along the way (68.68).
Foocharoen, 25, has played on a mixture of tours this season, with starts on the KLPGA, Thai LPGA and Epson Tour.
