Back in June, the restaurant chain Hooters announced the closure of over 30 locations across multiple states, with one spot being a Masters week hotspot.

The company's location on Washington Road in Augusta, Georgia, has long been a busy place during the first major golf tournament of the season, as fans and even players were known to frequent the spot. A tent is put up outside for people to eat, drink and watch golf. Multiple celebrities have also been known to make appearances, particularly John Daly, who is regularly there selling merch, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

But the location was one of the many earmarked for closure and this week the structure was pulled to the ground.

Hooters said in a statement to USA TODAY that the closed stores were company-owned and called the closures a "difficult decision."

"Hooters will be well-positioned to continue our iconic legacy under a pure franchise business model," the company said. "We are committed to supporting our impacted team members throughout this process and are incredibly grateful to our valued customers for their loyalty and dedication to the Hooters brand."
