10 interesting facts about the members of the Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team

The 50th edition of the biennial match between the top amateurs from the United States and their counterparts from Great Britain & Ireland begins Saturday at famed Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, California.

Rosters for Team USA and GB&I were set last month. For the Americans, it happened at the conclusion of the 125th U.S. Amateur at Olympic Club, where 18-year-old high school senior Mason Howell won the Havemeyer Trophy.

For GB&I, it's a team that has plenty of international competition experience but not as much in the Walker Cup.

Here are 10 interesting facts about the 10 members of the Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team:

Cameron Adam

WAGR: 17

The recent Northwestern graduate won the 2025 St. Andrews Links Trophy, played in the British Open and competed in both the U.S. Amateur and Amateur Championship this summer.

Eliot Baker

WAGR: 109

Baker won the 2025 Scottish Men's Open Amateur and went undefeated in the recent St. Andrews Trophy victory against Continental Europe.

Dominic Clemons

WAGR: 34

Clemons finished runner-up in The Amateur Championship to Jacob Skov Olesen in 2024 at Ballyliffin. He played at Alabama last year and became the first Alabama golfer since Justin Thomas in 2011-12 to win his first tournament.

Charlie Forster

WAGR: 51

Forster recently finished his college career at Long Beach State. He has been a member of the past two GB&I St. Andrews Trophy Teams and advanced to match play at the U.S. Amateur.

Connor Graham

WAGR: 45

In 2023, at just 16 years old, Graham became the youngest member ever of the GB&I Walker Cup team, going 1-2-0 at St. Andrews.

Stuart Grehan

WAGR: 149

The mid-am representative for GB&I was supposed to play on the 2017 team but had to withdraw after he broke his forearm playing soccer.

Luke Poulter

WAGR: 27

Poulter, the son of Ryder Cup stalwart Ian Poulter, went 3-0 in the match-play portion of the SEC Championship this spring, helping Florida win the title.

Niall Shiels Donegan

WAGR: 64

Donegan, who transferred to North Carolina this offseason, was the fan favorite at the U.S. Amateur last month, advancing to the semifinals.

Gavin Tiernan

WAGR: 470

The rising sophomore at East Tennessee State finished runner-up in the Amateur Championship to Ethan Fang earlier this summer.

Tyler Weaver

WAGR: 10

The highest-ranked player for GB&I went 3-0 in match play at the 2024 NCAA Championship final match, where his college team, Florida State, finished runner-up.
