Election Day is here; majority of Palm Beach residents have already cast ballots
More than 60% of registered voters in Palm Beach have had their say in the 2024 general election before the polls open Tuesday.
As of 1 p.m. Monday, 4,665 of the town's 7,659 registered voters have cast their ballots, according to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office. About 58% of ballots have been cast by mail.
Palm Beach residents who haven't already voted by mail or voted early can cast their general election ballots between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Seven precincts with three polling locations will be open. They are: Precincts 5601 and 5602 (St. Edward Parish Hall, 165 N. County Road); Precincts 5603 and 5604 (Mandel Recreation Center, 340 Seaview Ave.); and Precincts 5605, 5607 and 5608 (South Fire-Rescue Station, 2185 S. Ocean Blvd.).
Registered voters can find their precincts and assigned polling locations at the Supervisor of Elections’ Precinct Finder webpage at votepalmbeach.gov/Voters/Precinct-Finder.
Tuesday's general election ballot for Palm Beach residents will include choices for president and vice president, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, state representative, sheriff, Port of Palm Beach, state attorney, Supervisor of Elections and Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Voters also will make choices on judges, constitutional amendments and a half-penny sales tax that would support local schools.
Statewide, more than 8 million voters already have cast their ballots, either at early voting locations or through vote-by-mail, according to the Monday morning report from the Florida Division of Elections. That accounts for just under 58% of the nearly 14 million registered Florida voters eligible for Tuesday's election.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly 80% of the Floridians who voted did so before Election Day.
As of 2 p.m. Monday, about 64% of Palm Beach County voters — more than 573,000 people — had already cast ballots, according to the Supervisor of Elections Office.
Voters who plan to vote Tuesday must bring at least one valid form of identification that includes their signature and photo. Some acceptable forms of identification include a driver's license, a student ID, a U.S. passport, a Florida ID card, a military ID or a government-issued employee ID.
Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Main Office by 7 p.m. Tuesday, or to any branch office by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Former President Donald Trump is expected to vote Tuesday at the Mandel Recreation Center. The Republican nominee for the White House voted early in 2020, though his wife, Melania, cast her ballot on Election Day.
