At 1450 N. Lake Way, the main residence at 1450 N. Lake Way abuts the seawall on the Intracoastal Waterway. The estate, owned by former Palm Beach Town Councilwoman Susan Markin, has landed under contract after being listed in February at $45 million.

The second-most expensive Palm Beach house in the multiple listing service landed under contract this week. That would be former Town Councilwoman Susan Markin’s waterfront compound facing at 1450 N. Lake Way, listed at $45 million.

Measuring seven-tenths of an acre, the Mediterranean-style property lies several houses north of the Sailfish Club of Florida at the corner of Onondaga Avenue.

Broker Brad Miller and his wife, agent Pam Miller, of Bradford P. Miller Real Estate have had the house on the market since early February.

Listed at $45 million, a compound at 1450 N. Lake Way includes the main house, which directly abuts the lakeside seawall. The property is owned by former Palm Beach Town Councilwoman Susan Markin.

With 159 feet of waterfront, the lushly landscaped, nine-bedroom estate includes the main house abutting the seawall, “Venice style,” as Pam Miller has described it.

“You walk out of the house and you are on a deck that extends over the water,” Markin told the Palm Beach Daily News after the house was listed. “I have my own little aquarium out there. I get every kind of fish in the ocean.”

A guesthouse-and-garage structure fronts the motor court, and there’s a pool cabana-and-studio in the center courtyard. In all, the buildings have 13,449 square feet of living space, inside and out. The property also has a deepwater dock.

The pool area is lushly landscaped at 1450 S. Ocean Blvd., a Palm Beach lakeside estate was listed for sale at $45 million.

The house dates to 1940 but has been extensively renovated.

The listing in the Palm Beach Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service was updated Tuesday to show a binding contract had been signed.

No word yet on the buyer, the amount to change hands or when the sale will close.
