These LIV Golf players were relegated from the league Sunday, including a team captain
The LIV Golf regular season is over, which means a handful of golfers were relegated from the league Sunday.
There are three zones in the LIV Golf standings: Lock Zone, Open Zone and Relegation. The top 24 in the season-long standings will secure spots for next year, with final standings determined after LIV Golf Indianapolis. Those finishing Nos. 25-48 are in the Open Zone, which means these players can stay in the league, but their current team doesn't have to re-sign them if they have an expiring contract.
Players finishing 49th or lower in the points standings after Indianapolis will be relegated from the league and can return only by playing their way back. They can do so by winning the International Series or through LIV Golf Promotions.
Ian Poulter was going to be relegated until he birdies four of his past five holes, but he knocked out a fellow teammate and captain in the process.
These are the six LIV golfers who are being relegated from the league after LIV Golf Indianapolis 2025:
Henrik Stenson

The 2016 Open champion and co-captain of the Majesticks, Stenson needed to birdie the 18th to avoid regelation and was unable to do so. His teammate, Ian Poulter, jumped him to relegate Stenson.
Andy Ogletree

Ogletree needed to birdie the final hole to avoid relegation, and he was unable to do so.
Mito Pereira

While his Torque teammates celebrated a win at LIV Golf Indianapolis, Pereira had to deal with realizing his time with LIV Golf was over.
Yubin Jang

The top player from Korea last year was thought to be a strong signing, but he could never find his footing for LIV Golf.
Anthony Kim

The Anthony Kim experiment never really worked, outside of a bit of attention in his first couple of events in 2024. He didn't earn a point this year.
Frederik Kjettrup

Kjettrup was thought to be a stellar signing for the Cleeks. His lone LIV Golf season ends with no points earned.
