2025 U.S. Women's Amateur highlights: Megha Ganne beats Brooke Biermann at Bandon Dunes

BANDON, Ore. — It's time for the championship match of the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur.
Saturday was a historic semifinal, with both matches going to extra holes for only the third time in the championship's 125-year history. After holding a 3-up lead with three holes to play, 22-year-old Brooke Biermann held on to win in 19 holes. Meanwhile, Megha Ganne was 4 down with seven holes to play but fought back to win in 19 holes herself.
Now, one of them will hoist the Robert Cox Trophy come Sunday night at Bandon Dunes.

Biermann gets within 3
Brooke Biermann has won all three par 5s in the afternoon. She lips in the birdie putt on the 13th and gets to 3 down with five to play.
Megha Ganne goes back 4 up
Biermann misses about 30 yards left of the 11th green and takes two shots to get on the putting surface, eventually conceding the hole. Ganne retakes the 4-up lead with seven to go.
Ganne’s lead is 3 with nine to play
On to the final nine holes of the championship final. Brooke Biermann wins the par-5 ninth and is back to 3 down to Megha Ganne. Each player won three holes on the front nine and tied the other three.
Biermann birdies the 6th, gets one back
An incredible shot into the iconic par-3 sixth leads to a birdie for Brooke Biermann, and she moved to 3 down against Megha Ganne.
Ganne jars long birdie putt
The lead is back to four. Megha Ganne jars a long birdie look from roughly 35 feet on the fourth. Biermann isn’t able to convert the chip in, and the lead grows again.
Biermann gets one back
Biermann is now 3 down after winning the par-5 third hole for the second time today. Her third shot was a pitch that nearly went in, and Ganne can’t convert her birdie.
Megha Ganne birdies first hole after lunch
For the second time in the championship match, Megha Ganne has birdied the par-4 first. She goes 4 up on Brooke Biermann, the largest lead of the day.
Megha Ganne leads 3 up at lunch

It’s the halfway point of the championship match, and Megha Ganne has a 3-up lead on Brooke Biermann. Ganne won holes 12-14 on the back to take her lead.
Ganne goes back up 1
Brooke Biermann hits the lip coming out of the bunker on 12, giving Ganne the big advantage and she wins the hole to go 1 up. Neither player is separating early, but it’s a long day.
Brooke Biermann ties match
Brooke Biermann was 2 down thru 3 holes, but she has buried back to back bombs to win consecutive holes and tie the match through 5.
Megha Ganne wins first hole
The championship match is underway, and Megha Ganne wins the first hole with a birdie. Not a bad start.
