Gary Woodland will make his tournament debut alongside his father, Dan, at the PNC Championship next month.
The 41-year-old four-time PGA Tour and 2019 U.S. Open champion returned to professional golf last year after undergoing successful surgery for a brain tumor in September 2023.

“I am thrilled to have finally gotten the invite for this very special tournament. I feel so fortunate to be healthy and so thankful to my family who supported me through everything. I can’t think of a more perfect way to start the holidays,” he said.
The PNC Championship continues to release the entrants in the 20-team field in drips and drabs. Woodland will be joined by recent additions Nelly Korda, playing for a fifth time in the season-ending family event and the youngest professional in the tournament. She will be partnering with her father, Petr.
Team Korda is looking to improve on a best finish of T-5 in 2022. “We are very much looking forward to playing in the 2025 PNC Championship this year. It is such a special week to play competitively alongside my dad in this amazing field of golf icons with our family supporting us. It has become the perfect way to end my season on a high note,” she said in a release.
She and Woodland join former winners John Daly and Vijay Singh, fan favorite Fred Couples for a second year, 2003 US Open champion Jim Furyk, 1997 British Open Champion Justin Leonard and 1998 Masters and British Open winner Mark O’Meara.
With three players still to be announced to complete the 20-team field, other professionals previously confirmed are defending champion Bernhard Langer, David Duval, Padraig Harrington, Trevor Immelman, Matt Kuchar, Gary Player, Annika Sorenstam, Steve Stricker and Lee Trevino.
Will Tiger Woods play at PNC Championship?
There's still no word on whether Tiger and Charlie Woods, who lost a playoff last year, will be in the field for the 2025 PNC Championship taking place Dec. 18-21, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando, Grande Lakes.
Last year’s star-studded field won 69 majors and 40 senior major titles and more than 1000 international titles. There were five past champions in the field and two teams making their debut. Then World No. 1 Nelly Korda was the highest ranked with more than half the field having reached the pinnacle of World No. 1 during their distinguished careers.
This is PNC Bank’s 14th year as the tournament’s title sponsor, having recently renewed its commitment to the event as title sponsor in a multi-year deal. The event was renamed the PNC Championship in 2020, reflecting the world-class talent and special bonds that characterize this inclusive family tournament.
To qualify for the PNC Championship, players must have won a major championship or The Players Championship. Their partner must not hold any playing status on a professional Tour.
