The European squad has won back-to-back Ryder Cups. Can a different squad of Euros claim a different cup?

The Skechers World Champions Cup supporting Shriners Children's is a unique competition that pits three teams ‒ Europe, the U.S. and an International team ‒ against each other in a Ryder Cup/Presidents Cup-style match play event that spans three days in December on the PGA Tour Champions.

The European squad finished last among the three the last time the event was held in 2023.

Who is on the European team for the Skechers World Champions Cup?

Team Europe will be led by Darren Clarke (Northern Ireland). His vice captains will be Soren Kjeldsen (Denmark) and Jesper Parnevik (Sweden) and his players are Thomas Bjorn (Denmark), Miguel Angel Jimenez (Spain), Bernhard Langer (Germany), Colin Montgomerie (Scotland) and Alex Cejka (Germany).

“With the current leader in this season’s Charles Schwab Cup standings in Miguel and the greatest player in the history of the PGA Tour Champions in Bernhard on our roster, I think we have a very strong team heading into this year’s tournament,” Clarke said. “I know that Monty’s competitive juices were flowing in 2023 and he wants to come back and win. Thomas has two wins already this year and has been part of five winning European Ryder Cup teams, so we know he’ll be an integral part of our success this December.”

Clarke is back for a second tour as captain of the European team. Parnevik returns as one of his vice captains. All of his 2023 players are back as well, with the exception of Bjorn, who replaces Robert Karlsson.
