Who's up, who's down in the top 100 FedEx Fall for a 2026 PGA Tour card
Todd KellyThe magic number in 2026 is 100. After a few decades of the top 125 players securing PGA Tour cards for the next season, a new rule cut that to 100.
There are some who are outside the top 100 in the FedEx Cup Fall series standings who will have 2026 playing privileges because of a two-year exemption for winning a Tour event, so a slide to 101 or beyond doesn't affect much. But for others, climbing – or staying – inside that magic number is crucial for job security.

What to know about the latest FedEx Cup Fall standings
The top 50 after the BMW Championship in August were locked into all the 2026 status: tour cards, signature event access, all that. Those who finish 51-60 after the fall will earn tee times in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational, both signature events. The AT&T has a $3.6 million first-place prize. Tiger's Genesis doles out $4 million to the winner.
Rico Hoey has made the most of this scenario. Starting the week ahead of the World Wide Technology in the 61st spot, Hoey is now sitting at No. 58. He's the lone golfer who, for now, has climbed from outside the top 60 to inside.
On the flip side, Wyndham Clark is the one who is now on the outside. He was No. 60; now he's No. 61.
What about the climb inside the top 100?
Sami Valimaki did himself a huge favor with his solid play in Los Cabos. He was No. 103 last Wednesday, but he'll leave Baja California Sur in the No. 76 spot.
Chad Ramey is also now inside the top 100, but he came from farther back: 123rd to 89th.
That leaves two names who went the wrong way: Tom Kim (from No. 96 to No. 102) and Adam Scott, who was No. 100 and is now No. 103.
There are two Fall series events left on the schedule:
- 2025 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, Nov. 13-16
- 2025 RSM Classic, Nov. 20-23
And that'll be it. If you don't have any exemptions from winning and if you're not in the top 100, you're looking at conditional PGA Tour status for 2026 (Nos. 101 to 125). Nick Dunlap, if you're wondering, is the 125 bubble boy, up from No. 145 after the World Wide Technology Championship, but his two wins in 2024 earned him status through the end of the 2026 season.
Anyone outside the top 100 after the RSM Classic can attempt to navigate PGA Tour Q-School presented by Korn Ferry in an effort to improve their position. That's a slog and at the end of Q-School, only the top five and ties earn a 2026 PGA Tour card.
