HONOLULU – Rookie Taylor Dickson is making his PGA Tour debut this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii, and he’'s doing so in style with the swaggiest golf bag on the circuit.
Dickson, 32, a graduate of the Korn Ferry Tour after winning twice and missing just one cut last season, is rocking a Happy Gilmore bag made by Swag Golf. When told he has the best bag on Tour, he smiled and said, “Appreciate it. That’s what we were going for.”
Dickson, who graduated from Winthrop University, signed a bag and headcover endorsement deal with Swag after he made it to the Tour by finishing sixth on last year’s KFT money list. Swag also added former Haskins Award winner John Pak and already had Tour winner Nick Hardy under contract.
Dickson, who is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, said he likes the black and gold bag, which are the colors of the NHL’s Boston Bruins, the favorite team of Gilmore, the fictional movie character portrayed by Adam Sandler. Swag owns a sister company, Rewind Golf, which Dickson said purchased the rights to use movies from Paramount Pictures. He said he could use headcovers or a bag later this year with the likeness and images of “The Big Lebowski,” “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” and “The Godfather,” among others.
Dickson said as a golfer he’s always been a fan of the Sandler comedy and is looking forward to the much-anticipated sequel coming to Netflix soon.
“I really wanted a cameo but didn’t get that,” he joked. “I hope the second is somewhat as good. You know how sequels can be sequels.”

But Dickson said he’ll stick with the Happy Gilmore “as long as it stays fresh looking.”
Kudos to Swag Golf and good luck to Dickson, who already is #winning with the best bag around.
