Emiliano Grillo dunked and swirled a hole-in-one at 2025 WM Phoenix Open
Todd KellySCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Eight days after Rory McIlroy dunked an ace at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Emiliano Grillio did the same.
During Friday's second round of the 2025 WM Phoenix Open, Grillo took aim at the par-3 16th and dialed in the perfect distance.
The ball went straight into the jar and on slo-mo replay, the ball could be seen swirling inside the cup.
When Grillo saw the ball go in, he flung his club in the air and the celebration at the Coliseum, with beverages being sent flying. He then jumped into the arms of playing partner Rafael Campos.
It's the 12th ace all-time on the 16th hole since the tournament moved to TPC Scottsdale in 1987. It's the first since there were two there in 2022. Grillo's ace is now the 32nd in all for the tournament.
"I've been dreaming of this," he told Golf Channel's Kira K. Dixon moments later, as they walked towards the green. "I've been playing here 10 years. I got to see a couple."
And now he has one of his own.
