Zurich Classic leaderboard updates 2025: Ben Griffin, Andrew Novak earn first PGA Tour victories

Updated April 27, 2025, 7:57 p.m. ET

The last player to lose in a playoff and win on the PGA Tour a week later was Patrick Cantlay in 2022 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Andrew Novak now has that distinction.

Novak fell to Justin Thomas last week at the RBC Heritage, now he's a winner for the first time on the PGA Tour, claiming victory at TPC Louisiana with Ben Griffin, who also earned his first PGA Tour win. Griffin poured in a clutch birdie on the par-3 17th hole, the most difficult hole at TPC Louisiana on Sunday, to take the lead for good.

The duo finished at 28 under for the week, one shot better than the Hojgaard twins, Rasmus and Nicolai.

Both players earned $1,329,400 million and 400 FedEx Cup points with their wins.

Here's a look at the highlights and best moments from the final round of the Zurich Classic.

What a putt, Ben Griffin!

On the hardest hole of the day, he pours in a birdie putt and fist pumps. He and Andrew Novak will carry a two-shot lead to the 18th hole, with both searching for their first Tour win.

Three to play for leaders

There remains a tie for the lead between Griffin/Novak and Knapp/Capan III. Could there be a playoff for the third straight week?

Hojgaard twins a shot back

Consecutive birdies have moved Nicolai and Rasmus to a shot behind. Plenty of time and holes left, too, to make a run.

Tied with 6 holes to play

No harm, no foul for either team on 11 and 12. Knapp/Capan and Griffin/Novak are tied with six to go. Karl Vilips and Michael Thorbjornsen have moved to within a shot with two holes to play.

Jake Knapp, Frankie Capan III tie lead

The three-shot lead is gone. Three holes after resuming from the weather delay, Knapp/Capan III have tied Ben Griffin/Andrew Novak. The two teams are at 27 under with eight holes to play in the final pairing.

Lead is 1 at the turn

A consecutive bogeys for the leaders after the delay, and Novak/Griffin's lead is down to one shot over Jake Knapp and Frankie Capan III.

Play resumes at Zurich Classic

The final round has resumed in New Orleans. Ben Griffin and Andrew Novak have a three-shot lead.

Zurich Classic to resume at 5:15 p.m. ET

TV is back working, and the Zurich Classic will return to action at 5:15 p.m. ET.

Play remains suspended, TV broadcast working

TV is back at the Zurich Classic, as CBS picked up final-round coverage at 4:37 p.m. CT.

Play suspended at Zurich Classic

Everything is going wrong at TPC Louisiana. With the leaders on the 8th hole, play has been delayed because of inclement weather.

Final pairing birdies the 7th

Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin get their second birdie in three holes on the par-5 seventh, and the duo remains three in front of Jake Knapp/Frankie Capan III.

TV issues continue on CBS

Who knows when the Zurich Classic will return to TV screens. The issue has gone on about half an hour now, with a power outage at TPC Louisiana affecting TV coverage of the final round.

Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin birdied the fifth hole to move to 28 under and a three-shot lead over three teams.

Zurich Classic TV coverage issues

There's a power outage at the Zurich, so no TV coverage. It started about 2:30 p.m. ET. Coverage on Golf Channel moved to PGA Tour Champions, and it's unclear whether CBS will be affected, too.

Griffin/Novak lead back to 3

And just like that, the overnight leaders return to three shots in front. A good bounceback on the second hole, with Novak kicking in the birdie putt to return to 27 under. Meanwhile, bogeys from the Hojgaards and a big number from Hisatsune/Kanaya mean Griffin/Novak are back to three ahead.

Andrew Novak, Ben Griffin's lead down to 1

The lead was 3 at the start of the day, but Ben Griffin and Andrew Novak bogey the first hole to drop to 26 under. Meanwhile, the Hojgaard twins, Nicolai and Rasmus, have birdied their first two holes and are tied for second with Ryo Hisatsune and Takumi Kanaya.
