Dallas resident Will Zalatoris withdraws from hometown CJ Cup Byron Nelson
One of the local residents has withdrawn from the hometown event.
Will Zalatoris withdrew Wednesday from the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, outside of Dallas. A reason was not given for Zalatoris' withdrawal. James Hahn replaced him in the field.
Zalatoris has made eight of nine cuts this season, only missing the weekend at the Masters. However, his best finish outside of a T-12 at the American Express was a T-22 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He tied for 54th in his latest start at the RBC Heritage.

Zalatoris won for the first time on the PGA Tour at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in 2022, but a back injury the next week derailed much of his next year and a half. The past 18 months he has tried to regain his winning form, but he has been unable to record a top-10 finish in 2025 and will have to wait at least one more week to accomplish that feat.
Later in the day, Gary Woodland also withdrew. Cameron Champ replaced him in the field.
