It's all over at the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in the North Texas Metroplex.

Ben Griffin started eagle-birdie, and turns out he really needed those three shots, to outlast Matti Schmid in Sunday's final round. Griffin went 4 over on his next 15 holes, clinging to the lead late, but he held on.

Matti Schmid threw some dramatics into the final stage of this event after chipping in for birdie on the 18th hole. That got him to 11 under. But Ben Griffin, who made par saves all day long, made one last one on 18 to win the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Who is Ben Griffin?

Flash back to this list of seven things to know about Ben Griffin from Golfweek's Adam Schupak.

Ben Griffin takes two-shot lead to 18th tee

Griffin parred the par-5 17th but Schmid bogeyed it, creating a two-shot gap with Griffin at 12 under and Schmid at 10 under heading to the 18th hole. Griffin is on the verge of his second PGA Tour and first in an individual event. He won the team Zurich Classic of New Orleans a month ago with Andrew Novak.

Two-shot swing at the 16th hole

Ben Griffin missed the green, had a nice chip from the rough but needed two putts so he takes a bogey to fall to 12 under. Meanwhile, Matti Schmid birdied the hole to get to 11 under and it's now a one-shot differential with two holes to go at Colonial. The 54-hole co-leaders are both over par on this Sunday.

'These guys are leaking all kinds of oil coming in'

Those were the words of CBS Golf on-course reporter Dottie Pepper just minutes ago of Ben Griffin and Matti Schmid, the frontrunners at Colonial.

Ian Baker-Finch chimed in with "I'm eagerly awaiting a good shot" as the back nine turned into a little bit of a snoozer.

Griffin leads at 13 under, with Schmid three back through 14 holes. But Griffin is just even par on the day, while Schmid is 3 over Sunday. Schmid has three bogeys (and a birdie) over his last four holes.
