Wyndham Championship updates: Second round is suspended, will resume Saturday morning
It's officially crunch time for many at the 2025 Wyndham Championship. Yes, everyone in the 156-man field is hoping for a trophy and a payday but there's a tournament-within-the-tournament this week as well.
After a rule change, only the top 70 in the FedEx Cup points make the three-tournament playoffs. That's down from the top 100 of a year ago and that means extra pressure on those hovering in the 60s to 70s in the standings.
And now, the race to make the cut will extend to the weekend. See more below.

PGA Tour halts second round of Wyndham Championship
Dangerous weather came into the Greensboro, North Carolina, area Friday afternoon and at 4:32 p.m. ET, tournament officials suspended play. At 6:39 p.m. ET, they decided to call it for the day, pausing the second round till it can resume Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. ET.
Cameron Young is the solo leader at 14 under through 15 holes. Aaron Rai, whose lone PGA Tour win came here two years ago, is solo second at 13 under through 13.
The second round will be completed Saturday morning. Then they will make the 36-hole cut, then the third round will begin as soon as possible. The cut will be for the low 65 and ties.
What does the FedEx Cup Playoffs bubble look like?
Davis Thompson, for now, is up from No. 78 to the 'bubble boy' spot at No. 70. But, he is 5 under through 13 in his second round and 9 under overall. He's moving the right direction but let's see what happens over the weekend.

Weather has delayed the second round at the Wyndham
A little after 4:30 p.m. ET, PGA Tour officials suspended play at the Wyndham as inclement weather has rolled into the Greensboro, North Carolina, area. No immediate word on how long the delay will last.
Aaron Rai, Cameron Young tied for lead late Friday
Rai, whose lone PGA Tour win is at the 2024 Wyndham, got to 13 under through 12 holes Friday to take the solo lead. Minutes later, Cameron Young matched him at 13 under.
Cameron Young makes it a three-way tie for the lead
Young, who shot 63 on Thursday, is 5 under through nine holes on Friday. He's got it to 12 under and has made it a three-way tie for the lead.
Sungjae Im ties for Wyndham Championship lead
Im shot a second-round 64, his second straigth 64, and has knotted things up atop the leaderboard at 12 under with Mac Meissner. After 36 holes, Im has jumped from 30 to 12 (for now) in the FedEx Cup Playoffs standings.

Mark Hubbard joins the party near top of Wyndham leaderboard
Hubbard has signed for a second-round 66. That backs up his Thursday 63 and he's at 11 under, a shot back of leader Mac Meissner, who shot 63 on Friday. For now, Sungjae Im is tied with Hubbard at 11 under but he has four holes to go still. First-round solo leader Joel Dahmen, who shot 61 on Thursday, begins his second round at 1:49 p.m. ET.
Meissner off to hot start on Friday morning
Mac Meissner opened Friday's round at No. 152 in the FedEx Cup standings, meaning he needs a miracle to reach the playoffs, but that hasn't stopped him from firing in the second round of play.
Meissner has three birdies on his first six holes and has jumped to 8 under as of 8:30 a.m., meaning he's just a stroke off the lead held by Joel Dahmen. Meissner had missed five straight cuts before finishing T-14 at the 3M Open.
He made the turn at 31 and was tied for the lead at 9 under as of 9 a.m.
Can Cam Young finally win one?
After opening his year with five straight rounds in the 60s, Cameron Young only managed 20 more sub-70 scores over his next 63 rounds. He has had a stretch in 2025 where he went 18 straight rounds without breaking 70, including an 82 in the opening round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational and an 81 in the third round of the Players Championship.
Despite his scorecards as well as making only 13 of 20 cuts in 2025, Young started the week at No. 40 in the FedEx Cup Playoffs standings, safely inside the top-70 cutoff. After he signed his Thursday card, he shot up to 16th.
"I think it's just been a progression throughout the year. It's one of those times early in the year where it feels like I'm doing a lot of stuff right and getting nothing for it and the results show the nothing and not the stuff that I felt like was getting better," he said. "It's been a long season and I think I've kind of grown and built some confidence throughout it. It's just a matter of some of that work starting to show and looking forward to doing more of it the next few days."
